8 Apps 2 CEO’s Use Frequently To Enhance Their Business

As I was taking off to head towards Florida with the CEO of Sweetberry BowlsDesi Saran, I wanted to make use of the 2-hour flight & write up a piece of content that can help other businesses as well.

I thought it would be helpful to share some of the apps we use on a daily basis that help enhance our business.

Although the title states 8 Apps, Desi & I share at least 3 of the same apps in this article. So technically, we shared only 5. But it will share both of our point of views regarding the apps we recommend to help your business.

I’ll start…

Dropbox for Business

My team uses Dropbox religiously for data back up & sharing all of our projects. It also allows us to control visibility across shared folders by creating groups within our business (eg. Marketing Team & Sales Team).

Slack for Communication & Building a Community within your Organization

I started using Slack a lot more when I saw Desi Saran use it to build up his company. At first, I didn’t see the purpose of it since I had a pretty small team. But as I started to scale then I started finding more ways to use this platform. For instance, we create separate channels for our clients such that anytime there is content created or projects assigned for that client then it will be directly communicated there. Hence, you can add the account rep, graphic designer, community manager & video editor assigned to that specific client so that everyone is on the same page.

You can also create a generic channel like eg. #socialmedia.

Trello for Tasks & project management

Think of Trello as Post It notes on steroids. My agency uses Trello to create boards across our different content creators.

Keep in mind, everyone uses this differently.

For example, I have 1 board that is assigned to one of my video editors where he can easily see if there are any new/pending tasks for each client.

Each board is made up of Lists & broken down into Sub Cards.

Cards have multiple functionalities. Let’s go through one example so you can see how we use it.

The card will contain the Project Name/Task. Inside the card, we will add details about the project & add any additional files.

You can also add a due date, checklist, other members within the team (eg. Project manager) and other details to complete this card.

As you can see it can be extremely useful….& has a lot more functionality than just a PostIt note 😉

Buffer

I use Buffer to schedule multiple Instagram posts, not my personal brand but more of the Instagram accounts that I created that were more generic. For instance, @nychungry, @doyoutinder and @lifestyle.guide which is a home decor account.

I like to schedule those posts way ahead of time because when I post real time, it just takes so much of my time.

So with Buffer, I only spend about a day to schedule posts with captions and all good for the entire month for these multiple accounts. That way I wouldn’t have to do that daily.

Now these four apps had been so helpful to me and I asked Desi Saran (The CEO of Sweetberry Bowls) if he could share with me the apps that he had been using as well that he thinks are the best for his business.

Transcribing what Desi said..

G Suite

Gmail comes with a lot of additional things that you can use, there’s Gdrive to organize your files and send out files to other people.

Slack

Slack is a huge communication tool that you can add more than 60 people on there. It’s a free tool and you can upgrade it to get access to more features. It’s the best tool to get the people in your company to communicate with each other.

Zapier

For some of you power users, Zapier allows you to connect multiple apps and multiple software together. For instance, if you wanna connect your slack with your gmail or your gmail with your slack, you can integrate multiple apps together

Trello

Trello is a great project management tool that allows you to organize your thoughts, your projects and your team, and give you a good bird’s eye view of what’s going on with any type of project that you wanna put in there.

It’s also a free tool but you can pay for upgrades too.

Hope this helps!
