How To Create Content as a Food Blogger & Make Money Doing So!

How To Get Paid as a Food Blogger

I am a big foodie…I mean who isn’t? I love going out to eat and experiencing different things. To be honest, I probably dine out almost every weekend & order take out at least 3x a week.

I’m not saying that’s healthy, but it’s part of my lifestyle. But what if you could get paid & do that as well. Wouldn’t that be great?

Well, the good news is that we are living in a world that we have the capability of building an audience right from your phone if your content is good enough.

Let’s start with the tools that you need.

  1. You need a pretty good smartphone (eg. iPhone 7 + or higher)
  2. Portable LED Light

Now let’s get into the content itself.

You need to make sure your thumbnails are captivating.

The thumbnails are key to capturing your audience’s attention right away so that they can dig into your content further.

It is also very important for you to post appetizing content. You have to make sure that the type of photos you’ll post will make the audience click on your page a drool over your posts.

Your copy needs to be informative & helpful for the audience that you’re trying to capture.

Just imagine you came across a couple of food accounts. Which one would you follow: The one with just pictures/reposts with very little information about the posts, or the one with pictures with details and information about where the food can be located, how the food tastes, the environment, their opinion, and the price range of the restaurant – obviously, you’d go with the second.

Posting high-quality photos and appetizing content is great but posting content with information will make the audience stay a little longer on your page and even engage in your posts.

Try to provide value in your content – either through entertainment or informational. That’s key.

Should you focus on photos or videos? Both. From my own experience, I can tell you videos do extremely well if you can create a good story around it. Let me show you an example we did with Tipsy Scoop.

Obviously, this takes a lot more work then taking a picture – But the results are worth it if you’re trying to grow your account in the Food industry.

If you don’t have a full-time video editor then there are apps that can help you put videos together. Here are a few I suggest:

1.CuteCUT
2.RushCC (I haven’t used this one yet but I heard great things)

You can also find a freelancer online that can help you put it together especially if you are low on time & prefer having someone else doing it.  Leverage your resources and focus on what you enjoy doing.

So now that you have filled your account with great content, the next step is growth.
You need people to see what your account has to offer, right?
